HOVER ON THE PHOTOS FOR MORE INFO!
Teaching about Jesus - Carla Ati Learning Center is reaching the preschoolers of the tribe with a Christian education. Our weekly Praise and Prayer time encourages families to praise Jesus, share prayer needs, pray for each other and study God's Word.
Community Gardens - Okra, eggplant, several varieties of beans, petchay, chilis, squash, tomatoes as well as banana, malungay, and papaya trees grow in this ever expanding community garden. Vegetables are first donated to the Ati school lunch program, then available for sale at a reduced price to families in the village. Soon there will be a work for veggies program, as the garden expands to the next level and needs more laborers!
Community Gardens - Sharing fresh, organic okra with a few mothers of preschoolers
Community Gardens - We are praying about expanding the Community Garden to include an organic, odor-free piggery to help eliminate many of the parasites the children are exposed to by pigs raised right outside their homes. We are also asking God to provide funds for an aquaponic set up that would provide fresh fish for the community, as well as more vegetables, while providing work and discipleship opportunities for the men in the community.
Community Garden Work Day - We encourage unity in the community by offering opportunities for everyone to come together to make a big project small!
Community Work Day - Buidling a fence to protect the garden from goats and cows in the community. Ladies helped plant edible trees along the fence as well helping the men set poles.
Reaching Young Men - To answer the need for godly men in the community we have started a fellowship group for young men in the tribe. This group meets on Saturdays to play games, share a meal together and study God's Word.
Encouraging the believers - We encourage believers to attend church and Bible studies as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and seek to transform their own community through the power of the Gospel
Medical Ministry - This sweet newborn was born by emergency cesarean, saving her life and the life of her mother. Your gifts to CJMI enable us to be there to help when the Ati face a medical crisis.
Medical Missions - Medical care here is free for the Ati, but the medicines are not. Even transportation to the hospital, especially when there is a complicated case, is more than many families can afford. CJMI is blessed to partner with Ati families and assist them with medicines and encourage routine medical treatment for the wide variety of poverty based diseases that face the tribe.
Water Projects - This small outlet to a spring about a mile into the mountain is where many in the community access drinking water. We are partnering with local government officials, neighborring land owners and tribal leadership to bring safe drinking water to community.
